GSKSMO Outdoor Experiences Plan GSUSA outdoor skill-building videos

Wilderness and Remote First Aid - Red Cross This is the current Safety Activity Checkpoint’s requirement for a leader that wants to take Girl Scouts to a location where emergency medical services (EMS) are more than 30 minutes away. This course also meets the requirements for step 3 and 4 in the Ambassador First Aid badge.

CAMPING 101 This online course will teach you the basics you need to know to plan a fun, safe campout with your troop in a building or cabin with modern conveniences (kitchen, bathroom). You can complete the online course any time prior to making your camping reservation.
This in-person training is hands-on camping fun and teaches the skills you need to take your troop camping in a camp unit (permatents or A-frames) or primitive unit where you will be cooking over a campfire.

Small Craft Safety: Canoeing/Kayaking
Small Craft Safety Canoeing and Kayaking Certification is the current Safety Activity Checkpoints requirement for a canoe or kayak trip leader. Learn the skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and respond to canoe or kayak emergencies, and gain the knowledge to assist your troop in planning and implementing an outing.

This line is updated at least 2 hours before a session if there are any cancellations or changes by GSKSMO.
