Step into the saddle and get ready to ride!  Horseback riding programs are available for Girl Scouts of all ages.

Our equestrian programs provide an introduction to horsemanship including safe practices and horse care. In addition, they give girls an opportunity to develop a stronger sense of self, to foster healthy relationships with their fellow riders, and to learn how to take what they've experienced and feel confident sharing it with others.

Fall and spring horseback riding programs for troops and individuals take place at Camp Winding River in Dearborn, Missouri. Our state-of-the-art equestrian center is home to 26 horses, 3 goats and few barn cats. There's plenty of pasture area for horses to graze and a large indoor riding arena.

Please note: Girls should wear long pants and closed-toed shoes or boots with a ½ inch smooth heel (limited supply of boots available for use). Bring a water bottle and dress for the weather. Troops must provide adults within safety ratios, including a first aider.
