Program opportunities and events give girls the opportunity to achieve the Girl Scout Leadership Experience outcomes and can support journey, badge work or service projects. These program opportunities are supported by a variety of resources in order to give girls a well rounded menu of options to make their Girl Scout Leadership Experience fit their own unique interests and needs.
When planning activities with girls, note the abilities of each girl and carefully consider the progression of skills from the easiest part to the most difficult. Make sure the complexity of the activity does not exceed girls’ individual skills. You’ll also want to ensure girls are progressing through their experiences by making sure the activities they choose are grade-level appropriate. Remember that choosing trips, program opportunities and service projects are a great way to make activities girl-led.
In addition to program opportunities provided within the troop or service unit, there are council activities led by staff and volunteers. These activities are open to registered Girl Scout members and are available for troops or individual girls. Council opportunities include:• STEM Programs (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)• Camping
• Rappel• Archery• Equestrian Programs
Activities hosted by Community Partners.
