Program Name:  Master Gardeners for Kids: Chia Sock Head
 
Who:  Daisies - Brownies
 
When: Wednesday, September 9, from 4-5 p.m.
 
Where:  Reader’s Theatre (Lawrence Public Library event space, 707 Vermont)
 
What:  Daisies and Brownies will find that this activity fits right in with their journey’s Between Earth and Sky and WOW! Wonders of Water. The question is, what is a seed? Come find out with Master Gardeners, and make a special craft that will grow its own hair! Registration is required.

Program Name:  Spencer Art Cart: Bead Blitz
 
Who:  Brownies
 
When: Saturday, Sept 12, 1:30-4:30 p.m.
 
Where:  Reader’s Theatre (Lawrence Public Library event space, 707 Vermont)
 
What:  Brownies will learn about beaded jewelry from Africa and create a beaded treasure of their own for the A World of Girls journey. The Art Cart is a drop-in art activity station where families and other groups can enjoy hands-on art projects together, taking inspiration from original artworks in the Spencer Classroom Collection. Sponsored by Lawrence Public Library and Spencer Museum of Art.

Who:  Brownies
 
When: 1st and 3rd Saturdays from Oct 3 – Dec 19, 10:30-11 a.m.
 
Where:  Reader’s Theatre (Lawrence Public Library event space, 707 Vermont)
 
What: Brownies are encouraged to attend the unique Multicultural Storytimes which fits perfectly into the World of Girls journey.  Girl Scouts will enjoy a guest presenter storytelling, singing and providing insight into their language and culture.  The whole family and troop is welcome.  Come to one, or come to all to explore a variety of cultures!

Program Name:  Magic School Bus: Down to the Waters
 
Who:  Daisy - Juniors
 
When: Saturday, October 24 from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
 
Where:  Auditorium (Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont)
 
What: Join Ms. Frizzle at the Library and go for a ride on the Magic School Bus! We will be learning all about Water in Lawrence, where it comes from, and how we use it. This workshop is a great fit for Brownies and Juniors and is a natural tie to the Wonders of Water journey.

Program Name: Intro to Yoga
 
Who: Cadette - Ambassador
 
When: Wednesday, September 2 from 4:15-5:15 p.m.
 
Where: Auditorium at the Lawrence Public Library located at 707 Vermont.
 
What: Want to find out what Yoga is all about? Come to Intro to Yoga with our own Sarah Trowbridge-Alford. Sarah will teach as about the origins of Yoga and then lead us through our first poses. This program is perfect for anyone whether this is their first chance to try Yoga, or if they’re an old pro. Who knows, maybe Yoga will become a part of your own healthy lifestyle! Girl Scouts will find some natural ties to the Breath Journey.

Where: Readers’ Theater (Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont)
 
What: Hang out with your friends and talk about tasty snacks and how you can pick the best ones to keep you healthy. Then we’ll make and enjoy some tasty and healthy snacks together. Be sure to reserve your space!

Program Name: Author Visit - Sarah J. Schmitt
Who: Cadette - Ambassador
 
When: Wednesday October 22 from 7-8:30 p.m.
 
Where: Meeting Room B (Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont)
 
What:  Come to a 45 minute Q & A session with author Sarah J. Schmitt about her first book It’s a Wonderful Death. Find out what it takes to become a published author and what has inspired and driven her to reach her goals. Then stay for a writing session with Sarah to learn how you can develop characters, plot, and tell your story.
