Kick-off Event When and Where:
Kick-off Event is Saturday, September 19 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Meeting will take place at Camp Prairie Schooner at 15300 Ess Road, Kansas City, MO 64136.
Girl Scouts will have at least one meeting per month to attend as well as some work to do at home in between. Check out our frequently asked questions for more information.
Build Day will happen at Crown Center on March 5, 2016.
What: AIA Kansas City, WiD-KC and Girls Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri are excited to bring Cookie Construction once again to area Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts will work in teams with volunteer female Design Professional Mentors from the architect and design industry, over six months, to create structures out of Girl Scout Cookie boxes to culminate with a build day in March. Check out last years completed builds.
Space is limited to 100 Girl Scouts and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. See registration information below. This activity will require multiple meetings prior to the final build, involving all team members. Those participating are expected to attend all team meetings. Girl Scout participants and their guardians will come together for a breakfast meet and greet where they will meet their fellow team members and Design Professional Mentors at Camp Prairie Schooner located at 15300 Ess Road, Kansas City, MO 64136.
On March 5 teams will come together for Build Day. Girl Scout participants and their Design Professional Mentors
will build their construction and local celebrity judges will choose a top construction based on design and structure.
Per Girl: $20 (additional costs for construction
supplies will be incurred on a per team basis.)

Once you register online, you will receive a confirmation email with three forms that must be completed and turned in PRIOR to September 4 in order to finish your Girl Scout’s registration. Once all materials have been received, you will be notified if your Girl Scout registered in-time to claim one of the limited spots available or if she has been added to a wait list.

Additional Information: Each team will be provided with cookie boxes. It will be the responsibility of the team to purchase materials needed to assemble and build the structures.
Parent Volunteers Needed!
Each team of Girl Scouts will need two parent volunteers to lead
groups on independent structural work. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested. Volunteers must have a current background
check and volunteer application on file with the council.
