UMKC’s Civic Engagement: How to Change Your Community

Questions & Registration:  Contact Dr. Julie Warm at 816-235-5371 or through email at warmj@umkc.edu.  Troops must maintain adult/girl ratios. If attending individually a parent must stay. Registration deadline is 2 weeks before the workshop.

Additional Information:  UMKC reserves the right to cancel the workshop and offer refunds if minimum enrollments are not met.  The minimum number of girls per session is 20; the maximum is 35. 



Program Name: Finding Your Common Ground: Group Decision Making

Who: Cadette

What: Learn the art of negotiation and how to make decisions as a group in this interactive program. This will complete a step of the Common Ground Badge.

Cost Per Girl: $15 ($12.50 if you sign up for both Finding Your Common Ground workshops)

Who:  Cadette

What:  Do your friends come to you when they get mad at each other? Are you a peace keeper? Come explore mediation. This workshop will complete a step of the Common Ground Badge.

Program Name:  Behind the Ballot: Plan a Campaign

Who:  Senior

What: Are you interested in running for public office in the future? Or maybe you want to work on a campaign of someone you support? Come explore the basics of planning campaign. This workshop will complete a set of the Behind the Ballot Badge.
