April 6, 20138:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.Juniors
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) was established to empower women to succeed and advance in engineering. Its contributions to the community are numerous. The K-State section organizes outreach programs to teach youth about engineering.
SWE will be hosting fun activities, Saturday April 6th from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., from each engineering major like building a windmill, designing an airplane and making ice cream. The activities are presented by college students to Girl Scout Juniors. These activities encourage teamwork and out-of-the-box thinking. The goal is to show how engineering can be fun while educating the participants on opportunities in the field. The girls will be on K-State’s campus for an entire
Saturday learning about different engineering disciplines. We encourage
adults to explore Manhattan as all activities will have a leader and
groups will have a guide as they move from activity to activity but if
you’d like to follow your Girl Scouts to each activity that’s just fine
