Kansas City Zoo Workshops, Overnights & Zoomobiles

Where:  Kansas City Zoo- Zoo Learning Center

Cost Per Girl:  Workshop: Girl Scouts- $15  (10% FOTZ discount)  Overnight: $30 per person (10% FOTZ discount)

Cost Per Adult: Workshop: Free  Overnight: $30 per person (10% FOTZ discount) 1 Adult per 10 kids required

Program Name:  Girl Scout Day at the Zoo! 

Who:  All Grade Levels 

Cost Per Girl:  $5 admission for any Girl Scout in uniform

Cost Per Girl:  $5 admission to Girl Scout's immediate family only

When: Saturday, April 18, 2015  from 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

What: Come to the Zoo and spend a fun day with other Girl Scouts and their families. Fun Activities and demonstrations will be held in the Deramus Lobby, so come and go as you please as you enjoy visiting the zoo. And Girl Scout Leaders - swing by the Education Department and learn what we have to offer your Girl Scouts by way of programs and workshops. gray-line-thin.gif

Program Name:  “3 Cheers for Animals”  Workshop and Overnight

Who:  Daisies

When: Workshops available on February 14, March 14, April 11 and May 9 from  10 a.m. - 12 p.m. 
Overnights  offered upon request.

What:  "3 Cheers for Animals" - This 2 hour workshop explores animal basic needs, feeding and communication. Each scout will receive a journal containing activity pages that will help them begin (but not complete) their 5 Flowers, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals Journey. Workshop includes Classroom Instruction, Animal Encounter and a Mini Zoo Tour.

Program Name:  “Wetland Wonders”  Workshop and Overnight

Who:  Brownies

When: Workshops available on February 17 and April 4 from  10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

What:  "3 Wetland Wonders" - This 2 hour workshop will help scouts begin (but not complete) their Wonders of Water Journey. They will discover the water cycle and learn the importance of wetlands in the ecosystem. And don't forget the animals that live there! Workshop includes Classroom Instruction, Animal Encounter and a Mini Zoo Tour. (Private Workshops/overnights are available upon request. Call to Book.)

Program Name:  “Eco Explorers”  Workshop and Overnight

Who:  Juniors

When: Workshops available on March 7 or May 2 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

What:  "Eco Explorers" - In this 2 hour workshop, scouts will go on a learning safari as they explore the rainforest while learning about the animals and plants that live there. Scouts will also make an animal home to help them begin (but not complete) the requirements for their Animal Habitats badge. Workshop includes Classroom Instruction, Animal Encounter and a Mini Zoo Tour.  (Private Workshops/overnights are available upon request. Call to Book.)
