Japanese Cultural Exchange

You Schedule It!

Explore the Japanese culture with Erika Norikami. She is the Japan Outreach Coordinator with the East Asian Center the University of Kansas.  She will come to your troop meetings and offer workshops related to learning Japanese, holding a Japanese Tea Ceremony, making origami and more. See the flyer for more information and programs.

The programs can be great additions to many of the Journeys including 5 Flowers, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals, A World of Girls, and Girltopia.

Erika’s position is funded through the Japan Outreach Initiative (JOI) of the Center for Global Partnership. It provides communities with coordinators to facilitate cultural exchanges between the U.S. and Japan.

Location:
She will come to troop meetings within 50 miles of Lawrence.

Cost:
$25 for groups of 15 girls; $2 for each additional girl.
