When: Wednesdays & Saturdays
What: Discover what’s for dinner at Burr Oak Woods as the captive amphibians, fish and turtles enjoy their feast every Wednesday and Saturday. The snakes will be fed (April 3 & 17; May 1, 15 & 29 and June 12 & 26).
Program Name: Birding Off the Beaten Path
When: May 9 from 7 – 8 a.m.
What: Step off the beaten path and explore an area of Burr Oak Woods not seen by most. This month our birding group will be meeting at the front gate to bird watch where we have never watched before! All birding levels are welcome and binoculars are available to borrow.
Program Name: Fish Paint Art
When: May 23 from 10 a.m. - Noon
What: Prime up for Free Fishing Weekend (June 6-7) by diving into this fun method of recording your fishy catch! Using rubber fish and acrylic or tempera paints, finger painters to skilled artists will create a Gyotaku (Japanese for fish rubbing) to take home.
Program Name: Birding Burr Oak Creek
When: June 6, 2015 from 7 – 8 a.m.
What: Shake out your shorts, dust off your binoculars and throw on your water shoes. This month we are birding Burr Oak Creek! This seldom explored section of Burr Oak Woods may harbor some unique bird species and we hope you are able to join us. Meet at the Bethany Falls parking lot. Binoculars are available to borrow.
