Program Leaders will deliver the Girl Scout Troop
experience to girls in grades K-5 in afterschool settings in low-income schools
in the Kansas City metro area. They serve as a positive example for girls by
modeling positive attributes such as reliability, respect for others,
inclusiveness, and a positive attitude. This job will include working on some
weekends during the school year for special events and camp. Work hours vary
depending on the site, but typically range from 3:45-6pm. During cookie season,
staff may need to work later hours. This position also includes paid time to
prepare for troop meetings each week.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Program leaders must have
the ability to work independently and as a member of the team. This means they
must take the initiative to prepare ahead of time for troop meetings and meet
deadlines with minimal supervision. They must also be able to coordinate
programming with their coworkers and volunteers.

- Experience implementing curriculum.
- Ability to manage
behaviors and respond appropriately.
- Ability to complete
accurate paperwork and meet deadlines.
- Must be available to work
M-F between the hours of 3:45-6pm.
- Capacity to provide
leadership and supervision of volunteers.
- Excellent oral &
written communication skills.
- Must be able to attend all
staff meetings and trainings.
- High School Diploma or
- Must pass background and
driver’s record check and hold a valid state driver’s license with proof of
state required liability insurance.
- Must provide your own
- Must be CPR and First Aid
Certified within ninety (90) days of employment.
- Experience implementing a program/curriculum
- Experience working with volunteers
