Our
mission is to build girls of confidence, courage and character who
make the world a better place.

Girl Scouting provides a long list of important life-skills to
help girls get off on the right foot. There's much evidence that
exists that highlights the benefits of the Girl Scout experience.
In fact, a recent national research study demonstrates that girls
believe that because of their Girl Scout activities they have the
chance to develop nine important characteristics, including:
- Self Reliance
- Self-Competence
- Social Skills (ability to make friends)
- Respect for Others
- Feelings of Belonging
- Values-clarification and Decision-making
- Helpfulness and Concern for Community
- Teamwork
- Leadership

Girl Every Where is Welcome in Girl Scouting |
|
All girls are invited to join Girl Scouting --- including girls
with special needs, girls of every race, religion and socioeconomic
background.

|
If your daughter
requires special assistance, please contact Jan Obergoenner at the
council office, 816-358-8750, extension 3064, and let us know how
we can help. Troop leaders are supported by council staff to find
resources that meet a variety of needs. Together, we will find a
troop that works for her.

|
If finances
are a concern,
grants are available to help pay for membership, books, dues cap
and/or program events. Call the council office and ask for a grant
application. All applications are confidential.
