Leave No Trace Trainer’s Course
We will spend the weekend in both outdoor and indoor classroom settings learning to apply and teach the Leave No trace principles in “Frontcountry and “Backcountry” settings. Various teaching methods will be utilized throughout the training to prepare you to plan your own workshops. Because this is a training to prepare you to teach others, you will be asked to select a Leave No Trace principle or other LNT specific topic to teach the group in a 10-15 minute activity/lesson. Upon the successful completion of this course you will receive a certificate of completion from the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics.
Those who complete the course are equipped to:
- Understand, demonstrate, and teach minimum impact techniques to friends, family, Girl Scouts, and other community groups.
- Lead a discussion on outdoor ethics and help others explore their own personal outdoor ethic
- Conduct Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops.
