A Certified First Aid trained adult must accompany the troop on trips away from the troop meeting site and/or at various troop activities. Certified First Aid and CPR Training is available by contacting the local American Red Cross, National Safety Council, hospitals or through First Aid and CPR trainings offered by Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouril. When you complete a Girl Scout First Aid and CPR training you will receive an Emergency Care & Safety Institute Certification. All classes are limited to 20 participants.
CPR
Skills include: Adult, child and infant victim assessment, rescue breathing, CPR and obstructed airway management (choking). Participants who successfully complete this training will receive an Emergency Care & Safety Institute two year CPR certificate.

CPR Review
Renew your CPR certificate by revidewing and demonstating CPR skills and passing a written test. Participants who successfuly complete this training will receive an Emergency Care & Safety Institute two year CPR certificate.

Standard First Aid
Topics to be covered: Victim assessment, blood borne pathogens, bleeding control and shock, burns, head and spine injuries, fractures and splinting, bandaging, poisoning, stings and bites and sudden illnesses. Participants who successfully complete this training will receive an Emergency Care & Safety Institute three-year Standard First Aid certificate.

Standard First Aid & CPR
This class is designed for individuals who need both standard first aid and CPR training. You must attend two evening sessions, or one all-day training.
For all day trainings - bring a sack lunch. There is only 30 minutes for lunch.

Wilderness First Aid
This training is for adults taking girls on remote site camping trips, such as backpacking or canoeing in a wilderness area where medical care is more than one hour away. This training will focus on providing first aid care for illness or injuries until you can get the person to professional medical care. This is not a survival course. Participants who successfully complete this training will receive an Emergency Care and Safety Institute three year certification and a Wilderness First Aid certificate.
Prerequisite: Current CPR (adult, child and infant) and Standard First Aid or Community First Aid and Safety certificate. Bring your current cards to class.

Advanced First Aid Progression
This training involves advanced First Aid and is for adults acting as a GSUSA Level II First Aider. Topics to be covered: emergency planning, childhood illnesses, moving and rescuing victims, crisis intervention, triage, food borne illnesses and advanced bandaging and splinting skills. Participants who successfully complete this training will receive an Emergency Care & Safety Institute three year Advanced First Aid
certificate.
Prerequisite: Current CPR (adult, child and infant) and Standard First Aid or Community First Aid and Safety certificate. Bring your current cards to class.

First Aid & CPR Trainer
Enjoy saving lives? Do you have First Aid, CPR or medical experience? Then take your skills to the next level and join the First Aid and Safety Training Team! This training will teach you to facilitate First Aid and CPR trainings for adult Scouts and give you an opportunity to keep the Scouting community safe! Anyone interested must complete a volunteer application and interview prior to attending this training.
