Become a Rappel Assistant!
Prerequisite: |
Must be 15 years of age |
| Required Training: |
Basic Training for Rappel and Zipline, Rappel Assistant On-site Training, and a half-day shadow experience. |
| Minimum Service Commitment: |
Three council activities in the spring and three council activities in the fall season |
| Annual Update: |
Must successfully complete annual skills evaluation each August. |
| Class Size: |
limited to 20 with a minimum of 4 |
Basic Training for Rappel and Zipline
In basic training, participants will learn knots, terms, “challenge of choice” philosophy, and other skills common to both rappel and zipline activities. Previous participation in rappel/zip activities is helpful (such as the Adult Challenge Activity Day).
THIS IS A TWO-EVENING COURSE.
MUST ATTEND BOTH DATES TO COMPLETE TRAINING.

Rappel Assistant
Learn hands-on how to set up and operate a 40' rappel tower! Bring a sack lunch, water and sunscreen. Your onsite shadow experience will be scheduled upon completion of on-site training.
