Become an Archery Instructor!

Prerequisite: Must be 15 years of age
Required Training: Archery Instructor Course
Minimum Service Commitment: One council activity in the spring and one council activity in the fall season
Annual Update: Archery recertification meeting and written test each spring
Class Size: Limited to 20 with a minimum of 4
Bring: sack lunch, sunscreen, water and whistle

Become trained to teach archery to Girl Scout groups following GSUSA and Safety-Wise standards. The program includes basic archery form, positive coaching techniques, basic equipment maintenance and safety. Learn how to teach a class on established Girl Scout archery ranges as well as how to build an “off-site” range. All archery instructors and assistants are required to serve a specific number of hours at council activity days each spring and fall as well as attend an annual update meeting each spring.

Courses are scheduled each spring. Check back in January, 2009.


Archery Instructor Recertification

This course is required to maintain archery instructor status. Catch up on what's new in the world of archery this year! Learn something about equipment repair and review your skills for a short written test.
