Historic Oxford Schoolhouse |
Description: |
This fun and educational program will examine the lives of girls living in rural America 100 years ago. The Oxford One-Room School was built in 1877 and has been restored to its original beauty. Programs are designed to your group’s age and interests. This program will give your girls an opportunity to compare their schools and lives today with girls in our past to recognize the advancement of women in society over the past 130 years. Your living history experience can include discussions on life a century ago, using slates for spelling and arithmetic lessons, reading from McGuffey’s readers or can involve making an historic craft or playing an old-time game. |
