Volunteer Health Challenge

A healthy lifestyle is important for all ages. As adults, we must be healthy role models to encourage our kids to be healthy.

Take the Volunteer Health Challenge sponsored by GSUSA, Pepsico, and America on the Move. To help with the challenge, a step counter or pedometer is a good thing to have. If you do not have a step counter (while supplies last) or have questions contact Laura Moore 816-358-8750, ext. 3110 or lauramoore@girlscoutsksmo.org.

Check out www.girlscouts.org/aom/ to “Step up and take the Volunteer Health Challenge.”

Did You Know?

The physical activity and eating habits of most Americans are cause for concern. The percentage of people who are overweight or obese is now at epidemic proportions. The effects on our children, families and communities are significant, but can be prevented or reversed.

Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA), in collaboration with America On the Move Foundation (AOM), a national non-profit organization whose mission is to improve heatlh and quality of life by promoting a "small changes" approach, is responding to this need through Girl Scout-led, community-wide celebrations promoting health and wellness.
