Girl Scout Camps

While "tons of fun" is the first thing many people think of when thinking about camp, there's a lot more happening than meets the eye. Especially at Girl Scout Camp. In addition to swimming and rapelling, nature hikes and late-night campfires, there's more.

  • Girls learn to become more self-reliant by
being responsible for their selves and their belongings.
  • Girls increase their confidence levels by accomplishing age-appropriate skills.
  • Girls are more willing to take risks in and
    all-girl environment supported and encouraged
by caring counselors and trained program specialists.

Girls experience camp in one of several ways.... through troop camping all year long with girls in their troops, day camping in the summer with girls from their neighborhoods, and resident camping with girls from all around the city. These camping adventures take place in one of nine campsites** located around the Kansas City metropolitan area, offering a diversity of natural resources in rural, urban and suburban settings.
