Funding Opportunites

Because of loyal donor support, Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri is able to offer multiple program opportunities for girls throughout the council. Girl Scout programs are based on youth development research and help girls build courage, confidence and character. The following is a snapshot of several signature programs that are only possible through the generous funding of people like you. Please join us and support a program that fits your personal or corporate charitable giving goals and objectives.

Unrestricted giving allows your gift to support a wide variety of general program options, which are all designed to help girls:

  • DISCOVER their personal best and prepare for a positive future by developing strong sense of self, gaining practical life skills and strengthening their values;
  • CONNECT with others in an increasingly diverse world by forming caring relationships, promoting cooperating and team building and embracing diversity;
  • TAKE ACTION to solve problems and improve their community by feeling empowered to make a difference, identifying and solving problems and advocating for themselves and others.

Fund A Specific Program

Positive Power:
This progressive program provides age appropriate educational activities to girls as they learn about healthy relationships. This year as a part of the service project requirement of the program, girls collected 15,400 personal care items for domestic shelters.

Beyond Bars:
Celebrating ten years of success, this program provides girls ages 6-17 the opportunity to connect with their incarcerated mothers through Girl Scout activities. Mothers are trained as troop leaders and complete educational and social activities with their daughters allowing both to thrive despite difficult circumstances. Click here for program details.

Direct Service:
In an effort to bring Girl Scouting to every girl, everywhere, innovated programs options have been designed and developed to reach girls in disadvantaged areas across the council. A main component of this service involves using a combination of volunteers, community partners and paid, part-time staff members to deliver Girl Scout programs.

Leadership University:
This program is designed to teach girls, ages 11-17, basic leadership skills and prepare them to apply those skills in a number of different areas. Teen Girl Scouts learn the basics of leadership including communication skills, presentation skills, teaching skills and meeting planning. Click here for program details.

Outdoor Program:
Every year thousands of girls participate in camping as a part of the Girl Scout program. Activities like canoeing or hiking teach life skills such as teamwork and perseverance. For many, a trip to camp provides freedom from social pressures, hectic schedules and threatening environments. Outdoor program opportunities provide girls with a progressive camp experience including troop camping, day camp and resident camp. Click here for program details.

Science, Math, Engineering and Technology (SMET):
SMET programs incorporate the principles of inquiry-based science and the opportunity for girls to explore and discover what science is all about. Each year, girls participate in the program through several service delivery methods which allow them to explore the world around us. Click here for program details.
