| Issues like liability insurance and certified instructors are a concern when planning for girls. Consult your Membership Manager or a council staff member whenever you have a concern about following Safety-Wise guidelines. |
| |
When planning for the upcoming year, make sure the girls have an opportunity to take on leadership roles and to accept responsibility for their actions. This is important for youth development – giving girls the sense that her efforts make a difference.

| The Beth Winters Memorial Scholarship |
| Beth Winters, daughter of Joyce and George Termini and the late Charles Winters, exemplified the highest ideals of Girl Scouting as reflected in the Girl Scout Promise and Law. On August 26, 1995, Beth suffered an untimely death in a car accident at the age of 26.
As a young woman, Beth moved through life with grace, tenacity and a soaring spirit. The Beth Winters Scholarship Fund, endowed by Beth’s family and friends, captures that spirit by annually recognizing a Senior Girl Scout of high ideals. Since March 1996, fifteen such women have been so honored.
