How To Join
Adults, leading the way

Helping girls grow strong is a fulfilling and inspiring challenge and being involved means something different to everyone. You can tailor your participation so that it fits right into your life. What do adults in Girl Scouts do?

• Expand horizons
• Build values
• Create a better future
• Make a difference

Girl Scouts is open to any adult, age 18 and above, who accepts the Girl Scout Promise and Law and pays annual membership dues. Look below to discover the many ways adults can be a part of Girl Scouts.

Adult Volunteer Opportunities

Troop Leadership
Adults who directly work with troops become Girl Scouts by registering along with their troops. This group of adults is offered a wide array of resources, training and on-going support to assist them as they work with girls.

Individual Membership
Adults join Girl Scouts as individuals to stay connected with the organization, take on short and long-term volunteer jobs, and advocate for and support girls by keeping up to date on Girl Scouts.

18-29 Years Old
Did you need a role model when you were a teen? Imagine how much you could offer girls 11-17 knowing what you know now. Girls ages 11-17 need young adult volunteers, both women and men, who can relate to their interests and concerns. Based on extensive research of girls' hopes, fears, interests, and self-images, the Teen Girl Scout program is designed to be more flexible and girl-driven—a chance for each girl to direct her experiences so they fit her life.

Campus Girl Scouts
Adults enrolled in colleges and universities are organized into Campus Girl Scout groups. This group comes together to plan projects in support of Girl Scouts in a wide variety of ways including offering badge workshops, help with service projects or troops, special recruitment projects and interests of their own.

Friends of the Girl Scouts
Adults interested in joining together with other adults to support Girl Scouts through a variety of projects, financial support, and advocacy efforts join Girl Scouts through the Friends association.
