Season: |
The camp season begins, depending on the camp, around May 28 and
goes until approximately August 11. Staff are hired for the entire season. |
Internships: |
Internships are available in several fields including health services,
recreation, education and more. |
Training: |
All staff participate in 6 to 10 days of paid training together prior to
beginning work with campers. |
Referrals: |
Staff who complete the season successfully will be awarded a $100.00
bonus for each staff person they referred who also completes the season
successfully. |
Insurance: |
All camp staff are covered by partial sickness and accident insurance in
addition to "Workman's Compensation" while they are on camp or working off-site. |
Salaries: |
Salaries are based on position, training and experience and are
competitive with other youth development organizations. Checks are distributed every other Friday starting June 4. |
In-Service Training: |
A mid-season training and recreation time will be held soon after the fourth of July holiday. Talk to the director of your camp for more details.

E-mail: |
A computer with Internet access is available for staff to use to check e-mail
during their time off. A telephone is also provided. |
Time Off: |
Each staff person is entitled to time off every day. Additional time off is
scheduled between camp sessions. |
Laundry Facilities: |
A washer and dryer are available for staff use during time off. |
Facilities: |
Camp means being outside every day and night. Bathrooms are pit
latrines and showers are solar heated. Modern facilities are available for staff use during time off. |
Food: |
At Camp Oakledge, most meals are eaten buffet style at the dining hall. Foods like spaghetti, pizza and chicken are dining hall favorites. Camp Daisy, Camp Prairie Schooner and Winding River Camp will have food provided during the sessions for those staff. A stove and refrigerator are available for staff to use at all of our camps during time off or between camp sessions. |
